The thug and the crook

When David Duke ran for governor of Louisiana in 1991, voters were faced with a choice between the neo-Nazi and a former governor who was a convicted felon. VOTE FOR THE CROOK, the bumper stickers said. IT'S IMPORTANT.

Now Mr. Duke has endorsed Donald Trump. How timely! In November we will be able to recycle those bumper stickers, as we choose between a thug and a crook. Now as then, the later seems the wiser choice. What can the Clintons steal, after all, that they haven't already pocketed through their charitable foundation?

But Mr Trump knows no limits. And when it comes to abusing the powers of the presidency, he'll be Barack Obama on steroids -- and he'll boast about it! Recently he sent out this tweet, referring to someone who donated to a stop-Trump campaign: "I hear the Rickets family, who own the Chicago Cubs, are secretly spending $’s against me. They better be careful, they have a lot to hide!"

In this nation with its politicized executive branch, from the IRS to the FCC, we all have a lot to hide. Can you imagine Donald Trump with an enemies list? As the children say: OMG.
