Hannibal

Years ago Sally and I saw Silence of the Lambs on an Easter matinee. I was astonished that so much artistry could be devoted to such an ignoble purpose. More recently I read Hannibal Rising, which I concluded was the finest Second World War novel I've read in a long timt--and I'va read a lot. So for my present expedition l took along a digital copy of Hannibal (also seen in Anthony Hopkins mode, though from Netflix). To be sure, its Gothic horror stuff, but of such intelligence and wit as to leave most Literature in the dust. Stephen King crossed with Humberto Eco!
