A package has been delivered ...

I just now got an email from UPS "Quantum View" telling me that a package had been delivered:

Delivery Date / Time: 07-November-2011 / 6:34 PM
Delivery Location: FRT DOOR

So I went to the front door (at 7:15 pm) and sure enough, there was the package. I am pleased to have it, and yet ... isn't there something just a bit weird about a world in which it takes an email to tell me there's a package on my front step?
