Oshkosh, by gosh

Behold the M-ATV, which Oshkosh motors will be building for the US Army in Afghanistan. It seems that the fabled MRAP (designed and built for Iraq) isn't goat-like enough for the Hindu Kush. So the builder of trucks and other heavy equipment got the nod to build what the Pentagon expects will be 5,244 vehicles at a cost of $3.3 billion. That's $629,291 a copy.

No word on the gas mileage. Blue skies! -- Dan Ford
