Just a seaman doing his job
Captain Richard Phillips is home in Underhill, Vermont, where they still have red barns! He's not the hero, he said; "I’m a seaman doing the best he can, like all the other seamen out there.” The men to admire, he said, are the US Navy SEALs: “They’re superheroes. They’re impossible men doing an impossible job, and they did the impossible with me.”
"Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf" (variously attributed). Blue skies! -- Dan Ford
