Four days and counting

The New York Times has hosted a Room for Debate on the standoff between the United States and four Somalian pirates. Check out the reader responses: a more bloody-minded set of citizens you'll never see, and these are readers of the Times, not the Weekly Standard. Against the editors' hopes, the ensuing discussion is one-sided, to say the least. No Room for Debate whatever -- Blow them out of the water! Throw them overboard! -- and so on for thirty-two pages. I only had the patience to read two of them, so someone else will have to determine whether the president of the United States was among those who found the time to express an opinion on the captivity of Captain Phillips.
