Feinstein marks the spot

Dianne Feinstein, chairman of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, last week put the lives of American operatives at risk by revealing that those missile strikes at Pakistani targets are launched from a base in, yes, Pakistan. So says the UK Telegraph, though I don't recall having seen it on the front page of the New York Times (I read only the front page) or in the Wall Street Journal. For a time, the once-secret base could also be viewed on Google Earth. (The photo above appears on Slate.) It has since been removed, lest it serve to guide a suicide bomber to the front gate. Those are Predator drones on the tarmac, able to search out targets and launch rockets to destroy them. Blue skies! -- Dan Ford
