Iranians are a bit burned up

First it was France, where Muslims youths took to burning automobiles in a generalized protest against life--or life in France, at any rate. Now it's Iran, where Muslim adults are burning down gas stations to protest rationing. It seems an Iranian gets only 26 gallons a month, which doesn't exactly sound like privation. (During World War II, my old Da had an A ration sticker on the windshield of the truck, entitling him to three gallons a week, or about half the Iranian allowance.)

What's the problem with Iran? Well, it seems that the country didn't build enough oil refineries to supply domestic wants, while the people demand all the gasoline they can consume and at a reasonable price. Gosh, sounds a lot like the US, doesn't it?
