cautiously pessimistic

David Betz, who blogs more than all the rest of us put together, has a self-characterized 'cautiously pessimistic' attitude toward the Iraq problem--or debacle, I suppose we should call it, since we are being pessimistic. Read it here.

Indirectly David even addresses the seldom-mentioned elephant in the room: the Iraqis. What happens to them if we pull out? Will they live in peace and happiness ever after? Four years ago, Colin Powell is supposed to have advised Bush: 'You break it, you own it'. Don't we still own it?
