Shut down the ICC

The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for the prime minister of Israel. By so doing, as the editors of the National Review point out, "the ICC is putting more Palestinian civilians in danger by convincing Hamas that its strategy [of hiding behind civilians] is working."

Israel, like the United States (and Hamas and Hezbollah and Iran!), isn't a party to this antisemitic tribunal in the Netherlands, but any country that both belongs to the ICC and recognizes the "state" of Palestine -- including such bastions of liberty as Afghanistan and Venezuala -- would probably arrest Mr Yetanyahu if he visited. To prevent such an injustice, the United States should do everything it can to de-legitimize this kangaroo court. We should stop funding it, sanction its head, and speak firmly to countries like Ireland and South Africa that seem to be supporting Hamas. Israel is our friend. Dublin and Pretoria needn't support Netanyahu's defensive war against Iran and its proxies, but they'd damned well better not arrest him.
