A 'Dream Team' for Israel
Alan Dershowitz is one of those maddening people who are very bright, easily annoyed, and loud and tireless in putting things to right. Now professor emeritus at Harvard Law, four years older than our enfeebled president, he is assembling a "Dream Team" of attorneys as eminent as himself to defend Israel at the International Criminal Court.
"[T]he ICC has no jurisdiction against Israel," he writes in the Wall Street Journal today, "not only because it isn’t a member, but also because the treaty that established that court precludes it from considering cases against any country with a valid judicial system that is willing and able to investigate the alleged crimes.... Israel has one of the best and most independent legal systems in the world, one that is both willing and able to investigate its own leaders." Bravo! Long life and good luck to Mr Dershowitz and his team.
