Endgame in Iraq?

'All the allied troops in the world aren't going to stop the Iraqi people from continuing their civil war if this is their choice' So writes Gary Kasparov in the Wall Street Journal. To be sure, Mr. Kasparov's training was in chess, not international relations, but he makes a very good case for the US to cut its losses in Iraq.

Hi Dan,

if you think that chess is the background to comment on US foreign disasters, you may look at what Bobby Fishes has to say. He is even the better player.

cheers,

Olaf
