P-40 from the ground up

A replica P-40 under construction in San Diego. It appears to be a P-40E of the sort supplied to the American Volunteer Group Flying Tigers in the spring of 1942. Its paint job, however, is that of the U.S. Army's 14th Air Force. It was built from wartime plans, using wartime tools. (When I said "war," I mean the Second World War, like most people who can remember it.) It's supposed to set off today for New Orleans, where it will join the displays at the National WWII Museum.
