We are the 1 percent!

Gotta love that New York Times, defender of the underdog, scourge of Wall Street, big bankers, and Millionaires & Billionaires in general. But who reads the Gray Lady, after all? Why, those same Millionaires & Billionaires.

Here's a clip from yesterday's paper online, enticing readers to its automotive section. The Mercedes SLK 350 starts at $58,000 and runs up to, well, if you have to ask, you can't afford to throw caution to the winds. The extra spicy Audi TTRS runs "from" $57,000. As for those Yankee-built Porsches, a Cayenne Turbo (talk about spice!) will run you $108,000 delivered. But quell your guilty feelings: it gets 22 mpg.

Happy Thanksgiving, DF. FYI, I put a full sized old glory on my roof and 11-11-11 sign just in case you did a fly-over. Thankful for your service.
Oh, and my Mustang CS gets 22 mpg, too!

Alas, I grounded myself when I turned eighty. Bad enough that seventy-year-olds are flying around up there with no idea what's keeping them aloft, but octogenarians? Blue skies! -- Dan Ford
