My first copies of Flying Tigers: Claire Chennault and His American Volunteers came down the driveway at 6:30 Friday evening. HarperCollins has done a fine job with the book. Even the photos look crisp and clear--always an anxious moment in 21st century publishing, with its fondness for putting the illustrations on the same page as the text, rather than separate them out on glossy paper.
